Dr. Michael K. Wilkerson DDS, MS
"It is such a privilege to be able to work with and help children. I am blessed each and every day when I see a child smile, or a worried parent that is thankful for helping their child. I want to be the best at what I do, and I truly love doing it. I don’t want to grow up, and at the Kids Place, I never have to!"

Learning is a lifelong commitment that I maintain for myself and for my patients. Competence, skill, and efficient and effective treatment, as well as positive outcomes, are all generated from continuing education. Staying abreast of the current advances in technology in clinical, administrative, and digital dentistry helps improve the services I provide for the benefit of my patients.
I attend continuing education pertaining to pediatric dentistry, orthodontics, early interceptive orthodontics, and pediatric sleep medicine on a regular basis. Additionally, I have taught a yearly early orthodontic treatment course since 2013. Dentists nationwide, as well as from Canada, have attended this course. I am also a Senior Certified Instructor for the Academy of Gp Orthodontics. I have a patent for the Molar Tube Lock.

I have been providing quality pediatric dental care for over 30 years in my private practice.
I am also a member of the AGpO (Academy of Gp Orthodontics), the AOS (American Orthodontic Society), and the IAO ( International Association of Orthodontics). I have been doing orthodontics for 29 years, and I am a diplomate and have served as president of the AGpO. I have 12 years teaching through this academy. I currently teach an Early Orthodontic Treatment course to doctors from all over the world. I have lectured internationally with each of these groups.
My passion for early orthodontics led me to develop a patent for the molar tube lock, which is universal in arch development making treatment more efficient. My expertise and interests extend beyond the teeth, such as normal facial growth, facial growth guidance, proper nasal breathing, correct oral posture, tongue and lip ties and nurturing natural breast feeding for mothers and infants.

Outside the Office
I spent my early years in Ft. Stockton, Texas. Later, my family moved to Midland, Texas where I attended junior high, high school, and Midland College. Later I attended the University of Texas in Austin, and then the University of Texas at San Antonio Dental School. My Pediatric Dental training was completed in Dallas, Texas at Baylor College of Dentistry. I owned a private practice in Midland, Texas for 25 years prior to moving to the Hill Country. I have taught an early interceptive orthodontic course through the Academy of Gp Orthodontics since 2013. In this year long hands-on course, dentists from all over the US and Canada meet every other month to learn interceptive strategies from lecture and direct patient care.
I currently live in Fair Oaks Ranch, Texas, with my beautiful wife Lacy, and three wonderful sons, Braxton, Avery, and Creighton. We also have a boxer named Smokey. We love Boerne, a smaller town with big Hill Country Charm. Our family is adjusting to hills, trees, and water, which is a huge change from West Texas!
When I’m not in the office, I love to read, and occasionally binge watch Netflix with my wife. With three sons, my family obviously loves the outdoors, especially camping, hunting, and fishing.
