The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD) recommends taking your child to visit a pediatric dentist by age 1. At our Boerne, TX pediatric dentist office, Dr. Wilkerson’s goal is to set a positive foundation and assist parents in beginning good oral habits for their children at a very early age. We believe prevention is key!
Children who have a positive dental experience at a young age are likely to continue with good dental care throughout their lives.
Your Child's First Dental Visit
We encourage parents to attend dental visits with their children to meet Dr. Wilkerson and his dedicated and knowledgeable staff. During your child’s first visit to our pediatric dentistry in Boerne, TX, our team will review their dental and medical history forms, and take x-rays of their teeth and mouth. Dr. Wilkerson will then meet with you and your child to discuss the findings of their x-rays, help create an individualized dental treatment plan, and answer any questions that you may have. Most appointments last between 20 and 40 minutes.

Convenient Kids' Dentistry
Because your time is valuable, our new patient forms including insurance information, health history, HIPPA forms, and others, can be filled out online at your convenience prior to your child’s appointment. Our friendly team will provide you with the forms you will need when you schedule your visit. We're happy to make very part of your dental care and appointment registration easy and convenient!

Regular Dental Checkup Appointments
At the Kids Place, all of our dental visits are designed to create positive experiences! We understand maintaining regular preventive checkup appointments is an important part of maintaining a healthy smile. That's why we follow the recommendations made by the the American Dental Association, advising children to visit the dentist every six months for regular checkups and routine teeth cleanings to keep their teeth and gums healthy.
Each preventive visit includes a comprehensive examination, and depending on your child’s age and level of cooperation, a professional cleaning, x-rays. Strengthening mineral applications will be provided as needed.
